Wow Wee!! Oh how it feels to be back, overwhelmed with joy is how I would explain it. To see everyone’s face and to have them actually recognize me was truly heart warming. I feel like we have dug right in as a team and started making progress. Some have done the pre-cooking for the kiddos in the feeding program, painting a house for a wonderful well-deserving woman and her two sons, and broke ground on a new house for a Restore Haiti family!!
What truly has stuck out to me, was reconnecting with a family I met almost 20 months ago. They live directly next door to the church, the Mother is not a practicing Christian but Pastor Lafleur and his team felt that the children would benefit more if they let her stay. Anyways, the three boys, Colson, Felix, and Frits all ran up to me on my first day there and would not let go of me. I am especially bonded to those boys because I’ve witnessed them all having a “meal” right infront of me and it consisted of water and a few beans, maybe even one. They don’t want anything, sometimes they don’t even need to talk to me, I just have one in my arms, and two on my hands, no words can describe how I felt. Today (Tuesday) the Mother came up to me and gave me a great big hug, and told me exactly where I could find all her boys for the afternoon.
Everyone, Everywhere, Somehow have touched my heart these past few days and it has totally been emotionally draining, but I WOULD NOT trade it anything for the world. Much Love.
